There’s nothing like a good old scare!! This is the time of year where the ghosts and ghouls come out to play, and even if you are not into the new-fangled Halloween vibe, you cannot deny that this time of year does have a long history of spooky traditions that can lead to some good old family fun. Some of our faves are not for the faint of heart, so don’t say we didn’t warn you…….

Eden’s annual spook-fest returns this year, with a host of activities for young and old. Running throughout half term, explore the Bug Fair and get up close with some proper creepy-crawlies or head on a mega-beast safari in the Rainforest Biome, where you will run into some real monsters!

A chance to visit a museum out of hours???? What could be spookier than that. Head to the Maritime Museum for an evening of gostly tales and creepy crafts, and a chance to choose a trick or treat if you complete the Halloween Trail.

Newquay town centre comes alive (or should I say, dead???) with the sights and sounds of Zombie-Mania! With stalls and workshops throughout the afternoon, there is no excuse not to unleash your inner zombie and let the whole town see! Topped off with a parade, this family friendly event is more giggle than scare, and will have everyone dancing in the streets, zombie-style.

This yearly event leans into the traditional side of Hallowtide, which celebrates the end of summer and beginning of winter. This seasonal festival features Morris dancers and hobby horses, as well as traditional music and celebrations from around the world.
Camel Creek Adventure Park
Whilst the park crew are keeping tightly lipped about their Halloween plans this year, rumour has it that there is something spooky happening in the pumpkin patch…… Join them at half term to see what they have been brewing up!!
Bodmin jail
This is for the ones that like a proper fright. With an After Dark Halloween Special that is sure to scare the whatsits out of you, this is way beyond your average trick-or-treat. If an overnight experience in a notoriously haunted prison is your thing, then head to Bodmin Jail to get your spectral fix. For the slightly less fear-loving, there are plenty of other terrifying experiences to choose from, just be ready for some serious scares!
